<description>My dad bought a terrace house 30yrs ago at RM100k. He transfered the property to me as way of gift in June 2011 with valuation value RM400k. I intend to sell it in Sep 2012 for RM500k.

Question:-

Is this situation subjected to RPGT ? How many % and how to count it.

Thanks.

		<description>Sir,

I just sold my condo which date in S&#38;P is just 2 months to become 5 years. However I get the consent 9 months later (i'm a bumi sold to non bumi). Which date should I take as selling date and what document should I produce (other than S&#38;P) to prove that the selling date is more than 5 years.

Your kind help is very much appreciated.

<description>An excellent article on RPGT otherwise but why not put some real figures in the 'Sample Blue form' above to illustrate fully especially in places when asked for the purchase/sale price etc, you filled in the dates instead which is obviously incorrect. But why? Also with the complicated formula used in the RPGT form of : (((A x B%) - (A x C%))/(A X B)) x A,
there is no explaination anywhere. I am British and unfortunate enough to have bought a condo in 2007 and sold it last November with the result that I have to file a RPGT tax return in Malay which I don't fully understand though I understand the calculations used by numerous companies for illustrations. The concept itself is relatively simple and not unlike that of the British one which I have no trouble at all. The places for help are listed but try using the phone to one of these places given you'll soon clock up a fortune and still get nowhere. Hope someone will take some trouble to explain the filing of a Malaysian RPGT form this year. Thanks.
